Isn't Google amazing? Because of it I found out that today was the 50th anniversary of this speech. I was only 1 when this took place. Anyway, I really like what he said. So many times it seems like all people think is what can be done for them. Remember Templeton the rat in Charlotte's Web? I think we need to stop saying, "What's in it for me." and start saying "How may I help you?" What do you think?

Yep, we all need to pay attention to those words about now.

I agree. I was nine when that speech was given.
I love that speech!

Really? 50 years? I've thought of that speech many times through the years. I also read a quote from Martin Luther King this week that I like, "We may have all arrived on different ships, but we are all in the same boat now."
I remember when President Kennedy was assassinated. Our teacher at school took our class outside and had us hold hands around the flag pole as we prayed. Very good post, Ms. Karen!
