Sometimes it is the simple and thoughtful things that mean the most to us. Here is an example of two of those things.
This is a birthday card and $5 that my aunt, uncle and cousins sent to Daniel for his birthday. It really touched my heart. Because of Daniel's disability, there isn't much interaction with other people. Also, because they live out of state, they haven't seen Daniel in many years.
This is a picture of a former student of mine. I had her when she was in 2nd grade. She is now a senior in high school. She is a very sweet person. On the back she wrote these words: "Thanks for all your teaching, nurturing, and love in my time off need." She came into my class just after her mother had passed away and her dad had remarried.
These are some things that have really touched my heart lately. What has touched yours?

Sweet post. It is great when teachers see how they affected their students.
Both of these touched me. And I love that this girl stayed in touch and let you know what a difference you made in her life. I'm sure she is not alone in that.
=)
Those are both so very sweet Karen. What joy it must give you that a student appreciates so much of what you have done for her.
Very sweet and I understand why it made you happy :)
It is always a wonderful thing when someone lets you know how much of a difference you made for them or just how important you were at a point in their lives. What a blessing that she let you know AND that you were able to be that for her!
BOTH your highlights today are very heart happy moments!
It's always the little things that make such happy moments isn't it? Gorgeous card and how sweet of your student, you obviously made a big impact on her. Thank you for sharing, they really made me smile. :)
I love this post. They are both very touching indeed! Have a great day!
That's just so sweet and touching. xxx
So sweet. So often it is the simple things that mean so much.

Karen, my goodness, I miss you!
Happy Birthday to DAniel! :)
Happy Birthday to Daniel...and gosh, what a lovely tribute to you from your student; it's those students who feel touched by our teaching and kindness that reminds us why we do what we do....
Happy Belated Birthday to Daniel!
What always brightens my day is a hug from one of my kids, my husband smiling at me with a certain look in his eyes, and just a bunch of little things. I always get these each day.
