Help! (Music Moves Me Monday)

I need help with 2 things.

1.  A job.  I really do like what I do-teaching school- but sometimes I would like to do something different.  My question is this:  What can I do with what I have now?  I have a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.  I am also good at organizing things.

2. Blog Design.  I really need help with this one. I just can't seem to find a design that I like.  Can anybody do it or recommend someone who could do it?

I am SO not good with blog design. I always have to hire someone every time I want something done! And I hope you figure something else out if you decide not to teach.

WEll, you could become an educational consultant for companies or do training in a corporation. AS far as blog design, I can't help you...I just use the blogger templates-boring but it'll do!

I have no answers on either count. Well, except maybe the blog design. I leave mine plain, and just change out the headers. I find things I like and add the title in Microsoft Picture It....would rather have Photoshop, but can't afford it!!! Maybe that helps a little!!!

I am no great shakes at blog design either, sorry to say.

And it's hard to go from being a teacher to being something else. The training is so specific. Not sure what the alternatives might be, but I wish you luck!

I was talking with a coworker about what else she could do with her degree. There's always the Sylvans (do you have one in your area?) or being a consult with a textbook company.

About the blog design, contact Rachel of Following in My Shoes. She is so creative.

Education is a tough business to be in now with all the budget cuts. I'm a former teacher trying desperately to find part time work too, but I'm a full SAHM so it makes it difficult to find something with flexibility. How about tutoring?

Love your musical tie-in! :-D

Gee, that's a hard one. Have you thought about tutoring kids? I know that can't replace your teaching salary, but some kids need a little extra help. You may be able to do something fun & creative for kids while on summer break to keep the 3Rs fresh in the minds. You know how kids forget some of those basics in the early years when they are away from their studies.

I'm not a master blog designer. I just piddle with Blogger till I find something that works for me. Good luck on this score!

Great lead in song for 4M and it ties in perfectly with your two questions. I love that you have a theme even when it's a freebie week!

Thanks for rockin' with us!

I'm not going to be much help on your questions... :) On the job front, what about being an adjunct instructor at a college or like Tracy said, working as an educational consultant or in training at a corporation - here's hoping you find something that will truly make you happy.

One of the reasons I moved away from Blogger was the limitation on design - when I was on there, I'd do a Google search for free Blogger templates to find one that suited me. :)

Perfect song choice again this week - thanks for playing along! :)

Yeah I just pick a wordpress theme and tweak. I'm bad with html, css and all that. But nice way to integrate your MMMM pick!

I have always liked the Beatles song, such an upbeat tune for reaching out!

I hire for Blog design because I lack talent so I can't help you,so sorry.

I feel for you with teaching, as a former teacher I do understand your frustration and once again I can't offer you real solutions only an ear, well, a virtual ear at that :)

I loved the Beatles when I was a teen in the 70s. I still have all their albums up in the garage. Thanks for sharing,

Your song goes great with your dilemma.
I am not a blog designer per se but just tweak what I have to work with. I actually think you design is pretty.
Have you thought about maybe being a professional organizer?

I like your blog design and wouldn't change it. As for a different job, school's almost out so maybe you'll feel better after the summer break! (So much for helping!)

You know, my daughter was just telling me that preschool tuition for my grandson was going to be $900 I mean DAM! Is it possible you might look into something like that like opening up your own Pre-school. Maybe just a small one right now and eventually enhance???? Just a thought. Maybe rent a store front and turn it into a preschool. Shouldn't be too hard. Very appropriate song. Love the choice. Good luck my friend. Hope you find what you're looking for.

It's hard to change careers. Maybe think about being a home tutor? Or going back to school?

I'm also trying to find a new design.

Good luck!

Love the music.

I am undergoing a new design right now, and Creative Kristi came highly recommended. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

I know nothing about blog design, I won a redesign on a giveaway.
Good luck finding a job.
Of course, I love the Beatles and Help is one of their best.
Thanks for linking up with us this week and always. =)

Since you really like your job, and we all know you are good at it, why would you ever want to change that?
