Today is my 35th I mean 53rd birthday.  For some reason I am in a very reflective mood.   I have been thinking about all the blessings I have had in these 53 years and how many wonderful experiences I have had.  I have been truly blessed by my Father in Heaven.  I think he has really spent some serious overtime watching out for me.  I am forever grateful for that.

Another thing I have been thinking about is now I am older than my dad ever was.  Dad was born on April 16, 1933 and passed away August 6, 1985.  He never did make it to his 53rd birthday.  That darn bladder cancer took him before his time.  It is just weird to think that you could ever be older than your parents.

I had a very powerful experience on the way home from church today.  I was in my lane driving back home and all of a sudden this big white pickup truck started to come over in my lane.  I didn't ever really see it.  My heart was pounding as some how I stepped on the gas and got out of there.  I can't believe that I didn't get hit.  I said thank you Heavenly Father as soon as I got past him.  I am so glad for the man who said the closing prayer at church that we would all drive home safely.  God really does hear and answer prayers.

I am so glad for my life and and the good people who have been in it.  That is the greatest birthday gift of all.

Happy Belated Birthday! Funny how we think about our parents age...Close calls are so often and we do need to think our Father for His protection

I remember seeing your Dad and Dave and Robin's reception. I felt so sorry for him missing out on so much after that. But he probably feels bad for us missing out on what he is experiencing.

I am sorry I am late to the party. But happy birthday Karen! I'm so glad you blog and that we get to know one another as we read each other's words. You are always an encouragement to me. Praise God that you are safe after your near miss.

Blessings and love,
